The Tibetan Tingsha (or hanging cymbal) are traditionally used by Tibetan Monks for healing and meditation. They are joined by a leather cord and have a lovely sound when they strike each other.

This is a genuine hand made Tibetan artefact.

Although these days tingshas are commonly used for musical recordings and yoga classes, their principle function is as a religious ritual tool.

Prayer chimes have been used for centuries by Tibetan Buddhists in ritual and ceremony. The two discs are struck together and produce clear tones. Tones vary depending on the power that they are struck with. These tones are said to help clear, purifying, cleansing sound which can be used to focus the mind before and after meditation. Tingsha can be also used for space clearing to remove negative energies.
